Intentional
readings

My focus is You

Years ago, as I hung my proverbial open sign and began reading tarot professionally, I found myself feeling twitchy when I had a repeat client who requested insight as to whether her boyfriend was cheating on her. After starting a different reading, I turned the querent away, who stated that she ‘already knew all of this…when was I going to tell her what to do?’

I started to feel protective of this ancient wisdom bestowed upon me, allowing me into its sacred world to uncover its secrets. Although I understand the desire to peek into a loved one’s feelings and motivations or to have a psychic give all the answers, my relationship with the tarot feels more profound than that.

As a certified life coach, I know being told what to do isn’t as powerful or successful as looking within for the answers. Yes, other people are an essential part of our lives, but ultimately, I want you to focus on yourself- the only thing you can control.

I’m the reader you come to when you feel like you are at a crossroads, a turning point, a transformation in your life.

The tarot readings I offer are very intentional. I am here when you are ready to do the work to align with your elemental self so that you can move forward on the path meant for you. I’m the one who won’t guide you through a groundbreaking moment of clarity only to send you on your way to process it alone. My readings are collaborative conversations, not a litany of card meanings and rote suggestions. Chances are, you’re gonna get some homework.

My readings include an optional follow-up session after you have had time to process the information and formulate any questions and ideas you’d like to discuss further. It also serves as a great accountability check-in. This meeting may include more clarification cards. You will also receive a downloadable worksheet with space to jot down each card and any ideas or ah-ha moments you want to have available at a quick glance or to add more insights as you continue to process. Readings are virtual; if you are local, you have the option to meet in person.

Your Unexpected Journey Reading

“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

I adore how this quote from Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring captures a sense of foreboding yet also adventure. We experience the trepidation of the unknown that lies before us and the thrill of discovery within any journey. Even when we plan our route and things go swimmingly, we can expect the unexpected.

Because life is full of unknowns and discoveries, every one of us is on an unexpected journey.

This ten-card reading is for someone who wants to feel more intentional about where they may be going, no matter what stage of the journey you are traveling:

  • You are approaching or experiencing a significant transition in your life, and you’d love clarity about what could be next and how you can prepare.
  • You feel you may have detoured too far off the path of your journey and would like to redirect yourself.
  • You are coming to the end of a journey, and know another is beginning.

The best part is that you don’t have to navigate this alone! I may not be a Dwarf, an Elf, a Hobbit, or a Wizard (will you settle for a Witch?), but I would be honored to be part of your fellowship as we explore possibilities together.

The Creative's Reading

Those of us who create things to be used, purchased, read, and enjoyed by others know that the unexpected journey of a Creative can be a bumpy road. Even in our modern times, it is still often considered an unconventional way of life and can be filled with unique challenges.

This twelve-card reading will help you gain clarity on what you are offering and your motivation behind it. You’ll explore what could be a challenge, an inspiration, and a distraction. This reading is beneficial for you if:

  • You are feeling misaligned with your direction or offering
  • You want to explore your motivation or offering more deeply
  • You feel called to start a new creative venture
  • You are ready to unveil your creative work in a public way

My readings include an optional follow-up session after you have had time to process the information and formulate any questions and ideas you’d like to discuss further. It also serves as a great accountability check-in. This meeting may include more clarification cards. You will also receive a downloadable worksheet with space to jot down each card and any ideas or ah-ha moments you want to have available at a quick glance or to add more insights as you continue to process.

Your Tarot Story Guide

My goal is to get a tarot deck into the back pocket of every writer and creative. I love to teach and share what a valuable tool it can be as you craft your narrative and how you don’t have to have a vast understanding of the cards to get so much out of them.

If you want to take things to the next level, I’m here for you. We will work together as you explore character development and plot points or come across ideas you want to brainstorm within your story. Here are the various ways I can help:

  • Assign Court Cards to your characters: Learning about these ‘personality cards’ of the tarot will help you understand what makes your characters tick.
  • Conduct character interviews: Imagine asking your characters questions, and they give you an actual answer! Use the questions I provide or add your own.
  • Plot ideas/outlines: Let the tarot help you create the perfect plot for your story or provide ideas for something new to start!
  • When you get stuck: When you hit a point in your story where you have no idea where to take it, consulting the tarot is helpful and fun! Pulling cards to decide what a character could do or where a situation can go next can give you groundbreaking ideas!

Let me be clear: using the tarot together as a brainstorming tool does not mean that I, or the cards, are telling your story!  The cards provide a springboard for exploring ideas, and I’m here to share my knowledge of them and act as a soundboard for you. The direction you choose for the story is always the correct answer!

Our 50-minute sessions include an optional follow-up meeting after you have had time to process the information and formulate any questions and ideas you’d like to discuss further. It also serves as a great accountability check-in.
